APPEAL
I would like to tell you about a new charity - The Chris Needs Hospital Appeal.
As we are all too aware, hospitals need as much help and support as we can give them, and the need is no greater than here in Wales. My Mother, Margaret Rose, was a great crusader of charity and gave a lot of help to good causes... and I would like to carry on with the task!
I feel I have a very privileged job in radio and, as you know, I speak to a lot of people. There are still a lot of good folk about and together we can make a difference.
The aims of The Chris Needs Hospital Appeal are simple: all funds raised will be split between two different hospitals or nursing care organisations every six months and that money stays in Wales.
For example, if a children's ward needs 10 new beds, the hospital can order them and we will settle the invoice.
In addition to the hospitals we give to, we also support the BBC's charity "Children In Need".
There is power in numbers and I am asking you as a friend to support this new venture. Whatever you are able to donate will be gratefully received.
There are many different ways in which you can support us:
You could send a cheque or postal order, made payable to 'The Chris Needs Hospital Appeal'.
You can call into the shop in Cwmafan to make a personal donation or buy some of our lovely gifts - or check out some of Chris' CDs available here
You may be able to suggest where one of our charity boxes can be placed, or perhaps may want to organise your own fund-raising event.
